Quick take

Multi-size soft plastic swimbaits that mimic live shad and minnows for striped bass and pike.

This 5.5 inch paddle tail swimbait comes in a green pumpkin shad color, in a pack of 8. The soft plastic body and tail give a shad-like swimming motion on a steady retrieve. It is a natural-looking choice for anglers targeting bass, with the pack size giving spares for a day on the water.

Best for

  • Striped bass and hybrid bass in reservoirs
  • Pike and musky in freshwater lakes
  • Saltwater stripers and redfish

Skip if

  • You need a single-color match to local forage
  • You prefer topwater lures in clear water

Strengths

  • Realistic paddle tail action on steady retrieves
  • Available in multiple sizes for depth adjustments
  • Works in both freshwater and saltwater

About this type

A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.

Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.

Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
