Quick take
A 7' medium-heavy casting rod with carbon construction, suited to inshore and freshwater baitcasting.
The ENTSPORT E Series Sirius is a 7-foot, two-piece baitcasting rod with a medium-heavy power and a fast action. It handles lures from about 1/8 to 3/4 ounce on 6 to 20 pound line, which suits bass-style casting with jigs, spinnerbaits and crankbaits. A split EVA grip keeps it light in the hand, and the two-piece blank breaks down for travel.
Best for
- Freshwater bass on heavier cranks and jigs
- Inshore saltwater casting for medium species
Skip if
- You fish light lures; medium-heavy power is excessive
- You are new to casting reels; they require practice
Strengths
- High-tensile carbon keeps the rod lightweight despite the power
- Stainless steel guides resist corrosion in saltwater
- EVA grips provide comfort and durability for extended use
Trade-offs
- Medium-heavy power limits light lure presentations
- Casting reels have a steeper learning curve than spinning
- 7' is moderate length for maximum casting distance
