Quick take

A comprehensive fishing tool kit with pliers, fillet knife, scissors, grip, retractor and lanyards for tackle and fish handling.

This seven-piece kit bundles the hand tools most shore and boat anglers reach for: multi-function pliers with a sheath, a 7-inch fillet knife, scissors and a lip gripper. Two lanyards and a retractable tool tether keep the pliers and gripper within reach. It suits an angler who wants a ready-made set instead of piecing tools together one at a time.

Best for

  • Anglers who want one complete kit for a day on the water
  • Rigging, fish handling and cleaning
  • Gift-giving for fishing enthusiasts

Skip if

  • You have a strong preference for buying tools individually
  • You fish primarily and rarely process your catch

Strengths

  • Stainless steel pliers and knife resist rust and corrosion
  • The lip gripper holds fish securely with a 70 mm wide jaw
  • The 7-inch fillet blade is sized for small to mid-size fish

Trade-offs

  • A kit includes tools you may not use; specialized single tools often perform better
  • The lip gripper, though stated at 110 lbs, is sized for smaller fish mouths
  • The plastic retractor and lanyard add bulk
