Quick take
Short stubby fishing gloves with UPF 50+ sun protection and a non-slip silicone palm for all-day comfort on the water.
The Fish Monkey FM18 Stubby is a half-finger fishing glove with a short wrist cut, built to cover the back of the hand from the sun without much bulk. It has UPF 50+ fabric that dries quickly and breathes, plus a non-slip silicone palm print for holding a rod. Anglers who want free fingertips for tying knots and handling line, and a snug pull-on fit, will find it a fit for long days on the water.
Best for
- Saltwater fishing where sun exposure is intense
- Situations requiring hand protection and grip
- Guide work and professional fishing where durability matters
Skip if
- You need full-finger protection for cold water
- You prefer gloves without palm texture
Strengths
- Stubby cut improves comfort and tactile feel compared to full-finger gloves
- UPF 50+ blocks nearly all UV rays during extended sun exposure
- Quick-dry polyester and silicone palm remain comfortable through a long day
Trade-offs
- Stubby cut leaves fingertips exposed to sun and abrasion
- Silicone palm can become slippery if wet without textured design
- Not designed for cold water; full-finger gloves handle winter better
Fishing fit
- Water
- Saltwater
