Quick take
Precut bloodworm-scented strips with mesh backing that stays on the hook through repeated casts.
Fishbites Bag O' Worms Bloodworm in the Longer Lasting formula is a bag of precut, bloodworm-scented gel strips you cut to size, hook and cast. A mesh running through the middle helps the strip stay on the hook through repeated casts, which suits long sessions on saltwater or freshwater species like striped bass and trout. It works in a wide range of water temperatures and is a handy alternative to live worms.
Best for
- Saltwater stripers and drum
- Trout in flowing water
- Fishing conditions where keeping bait on is difficult
Skip if
- You prefer fresh live bait
- You fish in water below 70 F where the longer-lasting formula is not ideal
Strengths
- Mesh backing holds the strip intact cast after cast
- Bloodworm scent releases into the water
- Precut saves time rigging on the water
Trade-offs
- Synthetic bait is less effective than fresh blood worms
- Works best in water above 70 F
- Scent release is slower than fresh bait flavor dispersal
