Quick take
Precut bloodworm-scented soft bait strips with mesh reinforcement to stay on the hook through repeated casts and fish strikes.
This is a bag of three precut bloodworm-scented strips, each about 1/4 inch wide and 12 inches long, meant as a stand-in for real worms. Cut a piece, hook it and cast. A mesh strip through the middle helps hold the bait on the hook across several casts, and the strips need no refrigeration, which suits anglers who would rather skip live bait.
Best for
- Float rigs for panfish and trout
- Warm-water fishing at or above 70°F
- Anglers who prefer baits that dissolve slowly in the water
Skip if
- Water is cold; this formula works best at 70°F or above
- You want bait that releases scent instantly; this melts gradually
Strengths
- Mesh core keeps the strip on the hook through many casts
- Bloodworm scent spreads slowly through the water
- Precut strips save setup time at the water
Trade-offs
- This formula sheds fragrance slower than fresh bloodworm
- At 0.25 in wide it fits panfish but not larger baits
