Quick take
Biodegradable artificial shrimp strips that dissolve in water, leaving scent that attracts saltwater species.
This pink E-Z Shrimp comes as a two-strip pack, each strip about 12 inches long and half an inch wide. Cut a piece, thread it on a bare hook or use it as a trailer on a jig, and the gel releases scent into the water. With no mesh in the middle, it breaks down fully, which keeps re-baiting simple for anglers who want an easy bait to work with.
Best for
- Flounder and fluke on sandy bottom
- Saltwater bottom fishing where scent is important
- Fishermen who want an environmentally safer bait
Skip if
- You need live bait for selective fish
- You fish freshwater; this is saltwater only
Strengths
- Hydrogel dissolves completely, no mesh strips left
- Long 12-inch strips can be cut for multiple rigs
- Biodegradable design leaves no environmental impact
Trade-offs
- Dissolves quickly in warm water; less durable in hot weather
- Scent fade reduces effectiveness after an hour
- Not as effective as live shrimp on pressured water
