Quick take

Plastic bunk box for storing four rods horizontally with reels attached, fits in car trunks or trucks.

This plastic rod box is built for anglers who want to carry or stash a few finished setups without breaking them down. It takes four rods, two up to 6.5 feet along the sides and two shorter ones in the middle, with reels left attached. Foam inserts hold the rods in place, and a Zerust tab helps keep metal parts from rusting. A large handle makes it easy to move from trunk to boat.

Best for

Keeping rods ready in your car for sudden fishing trips
Storing a matched pair of bass and panfish setups
Protecting rods during travel without removing reels

Skip if

You need to store more than four rods
You fish saltwater regularly and need corrosion-resistant storage

Strengths

Bunk design lets reels stay attached and suspended
Variable configuration adjusts for different rod and reel combinations
Includes foam inserts and Zerust corrosion-inhibiting tab

Trade-offs

Plastic construction is not as durable as hard cases with aluminum frames
Interior room for tackle is limited beyond the rod storage
Not waterproof, only water-resistant
