Quick take
A portable digital scale with backlit LCD display for weighing fish and travel luggage on the water or shore.
A compact digital hanging scale that weighs from 0.2 lb up to 110 lb and switches between lb, oz and kg. A backlit LCD keeps the reading visible in low light on the water, and the stainless steel hook tucks into the back when you are done. It includes a carrying strap, data lock and auto shut-off, and runs on 2 AAA batteries, so it works for weighing a catch or luggage on the way to the lake.
Best for
- Recording catch weights for tournament or personal records
- Portable fishing trips where scale weight matters
- Shallow-draft boats and kayaks where space is tight
Skip if
- You need a specialized fish scale with photo capability
- You fish where precise tournament-certified scales are required
Strengths
- Backlit LCD reads clearly in bright sun and low light
- Portability and carrying strap allow throw-and-go setup
- Unit conversion between lb, oz and kg suits diverse anglers
Trade-offs
- Battery-powered LCD limits on-water use to several trips before battery drain
- Stainless hook can bend if used to weigh extremely heavy objects
- Data lock feature requires button activation and may miss recording quick catches
