Quick take
A foldable galvanized steel wire basket that keeps fish alive while floating during the day.
This FLKQC fish basket is a round, collapsible cage built from galvanized steel wire, meant for keeping a catch in the water while you keep fishing. It folds down to about 13.6 inches long for carrying and storage, and spring-loaded closures keep the catch inside. At roughly 0.66 kilograms with a plastic or rubber handle, it suits shore and dock anglers who want a compact way to hold fish.
Best for
- Keeping live fish fresh during catch-and-keep fishing
- Boat and wading fishing where portable storage matters
- Saltwater and freshwater use due to galvanized rust resistance
Skip if
- You need opaque storage to reduce fish stress from light
- You fish for very small species that escape through the mesh
Strengths
- Galvanized steel resists rust and corrosion in saltwater environments
- Floats on the water to keep fish accessible and visible
- Folds compact for easy storage and transport
Trade-offs
- Dense steel mesh stresses delicate fish with repeated handling
- Open mesh exposes fish to sun and predators throughout the day
- Spring-loaded hinge can weaken after heavy seasonal use
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
- Saltwater
