Quick take
A pre-rigged plastic shrimp bait on weighted jighead, designed for suspended presentation under floats or corks.
The Old Faithful colorway of the Four Horsemen Boom Boom Shrimp comes two to a pack, a soft plastic shrimp built for speckled trout and redfish. It is usually fished roughly two to three feet beneath a popping cork, where its gliding and darting motion imitates a shrimp swimming through the water. Anglers working shallow saltwater flats and grass lines will find it a simple option for those two species.
Best for
- Casting to shallow flats and grass beds for trout and redfish
- Cork-and-bait presentations 24-36 inches under surface
- Saltwater flats fishing where shrimp are natural forage
Skip if
- You fish open water where deeper profiles are needed
Strengths
- Deathgrip jighead provides quality and reliability from established manufacturer
- Shrimp profile mimics natural prey and reduces rejection by selective fish
- Pre-rigged eliminates setup time and keeps presentation consistent
Trade-offs
- 1/8 oz weight limits casting distance against wind
- Pre-rigged design means you cannot swap jighead sizes or brands
- Limited color options compared to loose shrimp lure assortments

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
