Quick take

A compact hook keeper that rotates to hold any lure size during casting and transit.

The Fuji EHKM in black is a small hook keeper that sits on the rod and holds a lure's hook while you travel or move between spots. It is a pulley-style plastic body with a rubber ring, so it fits blanks from about 5 to 16 mm without wrapping or coating. Anglers who carry lures with offset or treble hooks may like the way it folds out of the way while fishing.

Best for

  • Keeping a lure safely hooked when not fishing
  • Organizing multiple rods in a vehicle or boat
  • Preventing tangled lines between rod guides

Skip if

  • Your rods already have guides sized for hook storage
  • You rarely land fish and store tackle away safely

Strengths

  • Rotating design accommodates any lure size and shape
  • Polyacetal construction is lightweight and corrosion resistant
  • Small size adds minimal bulk to spinning and baitcast reels

Trade-offs

  • Rubber ring deteriorates and cracks after years of sun exposure
  • Small size cannot hold very large saltwater plugs
  • Installation requires space on the rod blank above the reel
