Quick take
Extra-wide-gap double hook for rigging topwater frog lures; wide hook spacing matches frog body width.
The Gamakatsu Extra Wide Gap Double Frog Hook comes three to a pack in black, size 4/0, with high carbon steel construction and needle points. Its extra wide gap and double design suit frog and swimbait rigs, so anglers can match the hook to the bait's profile. It fits anglers who build their own soft plastic and topwater presentations and want a gap sized for larger baits.
Best for
- Topwater soft frogs in shallow vegetation
- Bass in lily pads or grass where treble hooks snag
- Anglers rigging their own frog lures
Skip if
- You fish with store-rigged frog lures; skip rigging yourself
- You use hard-bodied topwater plugs instead of soft frogs
Strengths
- Wide gap matches frog body width for solid hook sets
- Double-hook configuration improves connection on aggressive bass
- Needle point penetrates fish mouths and lure materials
Trade-offs
- Only three hooks per pack; limited spares if lost
- Double-hook rig tangles easily during casting and storage
- Extra-wide gap limits use to frog lures only
