Quick take
Small tanago hooks tied on cord, designed for tiny pan fish in Japanese finesse fishing methods.
This Gamakatsu KIWAME TANAGO is a small needle-point hook of high carbon steel, packed five to a set with a 3 cm Tetoron line attached. It is made for tanago, the small carp-family fish, so it suits anglers who want a fine hook for tiny baits and light panfish work.
Best for
- Japanese float fishing for small carp and panfish
- Light-line finesse techniques in clear water
- Anglers practicing traditional Asian fishing methods
Skip if
- You fish standard American methods
- You target larger fish requiring bigger hooks
Strengths
- High carbon steel is strong despite the small size
- Pre-tied cord eliminates need for knot-tying skill
- Needle point penetrates small mouths of panfish cleanly
