Quick take
A 6 foot slip-tie leader rig designed for mooching live herring or other baitfish for salmon.
This Gamakatsu slip tie mooching rig pairs two hooks in the 5/0 and 6/0 range on a 6-foot monofilament leader, rated for 30-pound test. The slip tie lets anglers set the gap between the hooks to fit the bait they are rigging. It is a ready-tied option for anglers who want to fish live bait on the bottom without tying their own rig.
Best for
- Salmon and steelhead mooching from boats
- Live herring presentations in coastal waters
- Saltwater baitfish fishing
Skip if
- You fish freshwater only

Strengths
- Slip-tie design allows bait to move freely
