Quick take
Twenty fly fishing tippet rings in two sizes on individual swivel clasps for easy identification and secure retention.
This set holds ten 2mm rings rated at 25 lb and ten 2.5mm rings rated at 40 lb, each size on its own swivel clasp. A tippet ring like these lets you change tippet without cutting back the leader, so the taper lasts through repeated retying. It suits fly rigs that switch between two line sizes, such as a dropper setup where one tippet is swapped without disturbing the others.
Best for
- Fly fishing with multiple tippet changes per outing
- Anglers using two-fly or multi-fly rigs
- Freshwater trout fishing where leader preservation matters
Skip if
- You fish single-fly setups and don't change tippets
- You prefer a fixed leader-to-tippet knot
Strengths
- Individual swivel clasp prevents rings from being lost
- Two sizes cover most freshwater fly fishing needs
- Black nickel finish reduces visibility to fish
Trade-offs
- Swivel clasp may be bulky compared to simple rings
- Requires manipulation to add and remove tippet
- Not suitable for heavy saltwater or pike applications
