Quick take

A 440-pound industrial hanging scale with backlit display and unit conversion.

This is a digital hanging scale from Generies that weighs up to 440 pounds, so it suits large catches as well as game or gear. It reads on a backlit LCD, switches between units and has a hook-style suspension design. The ABS plastic body keeps the readout accuracy at 0.05 kg for weigh-ins on the bank or at the dock.

Best for

  • Weighing large fish at boat or dock
  • Stationary fishing camps
  • Anglers who want precision weights

Skip if

  • You need a portable hand-held scale
  • You fish for panfish under 5 pounds

Strengths

  • 440-pound capacity handles all freshwater and most saltwater species
  • Backlit LCD readable in dawn and dusk lighting
  • Accuracy to 0.05 kg gives precise weight readings

Trade-offs

  • Hanging form requires hook or mounting point for installation
  • Large capacity means it is heavier and less portable than hand-held scales
  • Display is electronic and battery-dependent
