Quick take

A 6.8 in jointed glide bait with realistic eyes and scales, designed to mimic shad.

Best for

  • Targeting large bass and pike in clear lakes and rivers
  • Glide-pattern retrieves where side-to-side sway triggers strikes
  • Slow trolling for trophy fish

Skip if

  • You need a compact lure for tight cover; 6.8 in is large
  • You want a finesse lure for pressured fish

Strengths

  • 2-section jointed body with metal joint flexes naturally on glide retrieves
  • Fur tail adds movement and looks like a shad tail bite
  • Internal gravity balls and realistic eyes make the bait look lifelike

Trade-offs

  • Large 6.8 in size and 2.47 oz weight limit you to medium-heavy rods
  • Jointed body and treble hooks snag easily in vegetation
  • Advanced glide technique needed for full potential; wrong retrieve looks unnatural

About this type

A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.

Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.

Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
