Quick take
A portable digital scale that weighs fish to 110 lbs and includes a built-in tape measure for recording length.
A handheld hanging scale that weighs from 0.02 lb up to 110 lb and switches between kg, lb and oz. It adds a pull-out tape measure in cm and inches, a backlit LCD with data lock, and tare and zero functions. At about 8.3 ounces and running on two AAA batteries, it suits anglers who want to weigh and measure a catch with one small tool, with a detachable strap for luggage too.
Best for
- Weighing catches to track personal records or for tournaments
- Measuring fish size when you need both weight and length
- Kayak and boat fishing where light gear is important
Skip if
- You only fish for small panfish and don't need a scale
- You prefer mechanical scales that don't require batteries
Strengths
- Backlit display reads clearly in bright sunlight and at dawn
- Auto-lock feature holds the weight while you position the fish
- Built-in tape measure eliminates carrying a separate tool
Trade-offs
- Requires AAA batteries and will fail without them in the field
- At 110-lb capacity it cannot weigh very large fish with precision
- Small LCD digits are hard to read from a distance in bright light
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
- Saltwater
