Quick take
A size 6000 spinning reel with 12 kg max drag and 12+1 ball bearings, built for large carp and catfish.
This is a size 6000 spinning reel from HiUmi with 12+1 ball bearings and a 4.1 gear ratio. The aluminum handle swaps between left and right hand, and the reel weighs 15.9 ounces. It pairs a bait runner style with a 12 kilogram max drag, a fit for anglers who want a larger spinning reel for monofilament line.
Best for
- Carp and large catfish in lakes
- Bottom fishing with heavy sinkers
- Long-distance casting with monofilament line
Skip if
- You fish for small panfish or trout
- You need a lightweight reel for all-day hand-casting
Strengths
- High-capacity spool holds heavy monofilament line for distance and power
- 12 kg drag handles hard runs from large fish without slipping
- CNC machined aluminum handle is strong and can be set for left or right hand
Trade-offs
- Heavy reel and large frame are fatiguing on light or medium rods
- The large spool capacity is wasted when fishing small bodies of water
- Graphite frame is less rigid than full aluminum on extreme power applications
