Quick take
Plastic clamp-on alarm bells that jingle when fish bite for hands-free bite notification at your rods.
This is a bulk pack of 30 clip-on bite bells from Honbay, made of metal and plastic, with 20 green clips and 10 red ones. Each plastic clamp grips a rod section of about a quarter inch or thicker, and the small 0.63-inch bell jingles when a fish tugs the line. It suits bank anglers who watch several rods at once, or anyone who wants to rig a few rods for night fishing.
Best for
- Bank and pier fishing with multiple rods
- Catfish and night fishing sessions
- Anglers fishing without active attention
Skip if
- You use electronic bite alarms
- You only fish active presentations
Strengths
- Loud enough to hear bites from distance
- Metal and plastic construction resists wind false alarms
- Clamp works on rod sections 1/4 in or larger
Trade-offs
- Mechanical bells require manual reset between strikes
- Wind can cause false alarms in exposed areas
- Sound may not carry far in windy conditions
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
- Saltwater
