Quick take

A five-piece fishing kit with a 110-pound digital scale, hook remover, fish gripper, plier, and tool lanyards.

This kit bundles a handheld digital fish scale, a hook remover, a lip gripper, pliers with a sheath and two lanyards, so the basic fish-handling tools come in one set. The scale reads up to 110 pounds in 0.5 lb steps, runs on two AAA batteries and shuts itself off. The pliers cut line, open split rings and crimp weights, and the gripper locks its jaws until the trigger is pulled. It suits anglers who want to land, weigh and release fish with one grab-and-go set.

Best for

  • Anglers wanting to weigh and document their catch
  • Tournament fishing requiring accurate scales
  • Complete fish handling from capture to measurement

Skip if

  • You fish only for personal consumption
  • You prefer mechanical spring scales

Strengths

  • Digital scale measures to 0.5-lb accuracy
  • Hook remover, gripper and plier handle all fish situations
  • Lanyards prevent loss of small tools on water

Trade-offs

  • Digital scale requires AAA batteries
  • Auto-off feature can drain batteries if forgotten powered
  • Tool kit adds weight to tackle bag
