Quick take
Knot-tying aid with integrated hook cover and line cutter for tying secure fishing knots.
The Hook-Eze is a hand-sized knot tying tool that covers the point of a J hook while you tie, keeping your fingers clear of the barb. It also works with jig heads, swivels and speed clips, and it joins braid to leader for knots like the FG, Blood and Yucatan. A built-in stainless trimmer cuts the tag end, and the cover lets you carry a fully rigged rod without the hook catching on seats or gear.
Best for
- Anglers with arthritis or hand strength limitations
- Tying advanced knots like FG, Bimini Twist and Blood Knot
- Safely protecting fingers while tying tackle
Skip if
- You tie knots quickly by hand
- You fish with pre-rigged rods only
Strengths
- Covers hook safely while tying to prevent cuts
- Helps with difficult knots that require three hands
- Works for hooks up to 10/0 and flies
Trade-offs
- Requires practice to use effectively
- Adds weight to tackle bag
- Not needed for simple improved clinch knots
