Quick take
A 40-inch aluminum ruler marked in quarter-inch increments for measuring fish.
This Hurricane HUR-91A is a 40-inch aluminum fish ruler with quarter-inch graduations, made for measuring catches against a length limit. It is a single straight bar about 41 inches long, so it can be fixed to a boat deck or a wall. Anglers who keep to slot and size limits will find a long, rigid measuring surface handy.
Best for
- Checking fish against size limits on your catch
- Boat deck and dock installation
- Tournament weigh-in verification
Skip if
- You fish from the bank without a mounting surface
- You need a portable weighing option
Strengths
- Aluminum construction resists corrosion in saltwater
- Clear graduations in quarter-inch increments
- Easily mounted to deck or wall
Trade-offs
- 40 inches limits measurements of very large fish
- Requires permanent mounting to be most useful
- Not portable for shore fishing
