Quick take
An 8-inch electric auger with steel construction, turbo cutting system, and 3.4 inches-per-second cutting speed.
The ION Alpha is a cordless 8-inch electric ice auger with a steel bit, built around a 40V Gen 3 lithium-ion battery. A variable-speed trigger, a slush-clearing reverse and LED lights on the head make it practical for early-morning and low-light hole drilling. At about 22 pounds it suits anglers who punch many holes while moving between spots on the ice.
