Quick take
Compact brass spoons with ball chain design for casting and light jigging.
Best for
- Casting to finicky trout in clear streams
- Vertical jigging for panfish through the ice
- Trolling in both freshwater and saltwater
Skip if
- You fish heavy weeds; spoons foul in vegetation
- You prefer lures that cover deep water
Strengths
- Jewelry-quality electroplate resists tarnishing and corrosion
- Ball chain creates vibration and flash on every retrieve
- 1/10 oz balances castability and vibration across slow and fast speeds
Trade-offs
- Small spoon size limits appeal to large bass and pike
- Brass density sinks quickly; difficult on shallow flats

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
