Quick take

A 2/3 oz in-line spinner lure with proven casting distance and spinning action for freshwater and saltwater fish.

The Jake's Spin 2/3 oz is a gold lure with red accents that pairs a wide, short spoon body with a spinning blade. The spoon wobbles like a baitfish while the blade adds flash and vibration. It is built for trolling and slow retrieves, where it keeps its action at low speeds. Anglers after cold-water trout in lakes and streams have a ready option for the day.

Best for

  • Casting from shore or boat
  • Trolling near structure
  • Jigging in deep water

Skip if

  • You fish ultra-light tackle
  • You need the lure to suspend

Strengths

  • Unique weight distribution achieves superior casting distance
  • Spinning action works across multiple fishing techniques
  • Effective in both fresh and saltwater

Trade-offs

  • At 2/3 oz, the lure works best on heavier rods and line
  • In-line spinners twist line; a swivel is recommended
  • Metal construction means it sinks, not suitable for surface fishing
