Quick take

A set of seven plastic net repair needles in sizes 3 through 9 for mending fishing nets of various mesh sizes.

This is a seven-piece set of plastic netting needles for mending cast nets and other fishing nets, with one shuttle in each size from 3 to 9. The sizes run from about 4.7 inches up to nearly 12 inches, so you can match the needle to the mesh and twine you are working with. At 62 grams for the whole set, it is light enough to toss in a tackle bag for repairs at the ramp or on the boat.

Best for

  • Repairing cast nets and landing nets in the field
  • Anglers who fish regularly and maintain their own net gear
  • Replacing damaged netting where quick repairs matter

Skip if

  • You replace nets rather than repair them
  • You buy pre-made nets and do not maintain them yourself

Strengths

  • Hard plastic construction resists breaking and cracking
  • Seven sizes cover most common fishing net mesh dimensions
  • Compact and lightweight for carrying on fishing trips

Trade-offs

  • Requires knowledge of net repair techniques
  • Plastic needles can wear down with heavy use
  • Not suitable for large-scale commercial net repair
