Quick take
A lightweight split ring nose plier with serrated cutters for opening split rings and cutting fishing line in both freshwater and saltwater.
The KastKing AeroVice is a 7.5-inch pair of fishing pliers with a split ring nose for swapping treble hooks and lure hardware. The jaws also handle hook removal and crimping split shot, and the serrated cutters trim braid, fluorocarbon and mono. A stainless steel uni-body frame suits both freshwater and saltwater trips, and the kit adds a belt-clip sheath, lanyard and carabiner so the tool stays within reach.
Best for
- Quickly changing hooks and split ring attachments
- Cutting braided and fluorocarbon line
- Anglers who fish multiple rigs or lure colors
Skip if
- You only crimp weights or tie knots
- You need a plier that removes hooks
Strengths
- Split ring nose quickly opens and closes rings for tackle changes
- Serrated cutters slice through braided line with clean cuts
- 15% lighter than comparable pliers without sacrificing strength
Trade-offs
- Split ring nose is not suited for general gripping
- Stainless steel can wear with repeated hard use on large split rings
- Serrated cutters can fray some softer materials
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
- Saltwater
