Quick take
Lightweight low-profile baitcaster with tungsten feel and compact design, engineered for longer casts with braided and monofilament line.
The Centron Lite is a compact low-profile baitcasting reel with a glass fiber infused nylon frame that keeps it to 7.6 ounces. It pairs a 7.1:1 gear ratio with five ball bearings plus an anti-reverse bearing, a 10-magnet brake and up to 15.4 pounds of drag. The aluminum spool takes both braid and monofilament, so it suits anglers who want a light baitcaster for lure fishing.
Best for
- Precision casting with medium lures from quarter to five-eighths ounce
- Anglers who prefer the feel of heavier reels without the weight
- Extended casting sessions where hand fatigue becomes an issue
Skip if
- You need round-profile conventional reels for live bait
Strengths
- At 7.6 oz, weight is low enough to reduce hand fatigue over long days
- 10-magnet braking system with external adjustment allows customization
- Brass gears and double-shielded bearings deliver smooth, responsive performance
Trade-offs
- Lightweight profile can feel delicate compared to heavier reels
- Glass fiber frame sacrifices some durability for weight savings
- Compact design limits line capacity for heavy braided setups
