Quick take
A size 60 round baitcasting reel with reinforced aluminum body and carbon drag system for catfish and striper fishing.
A round-profile baitcasting reel in the Rover line, in size 60 with a right-hand retrieve. It pairs an aluminum body with a 5.3:1 gear ratio and a 6+1 bearing set, a layout aimed at trolling, bottom fishing and general freshwater or inshore saltwater work. Anglers moving up from small low-profile reels to heavier catfish, striper or steelhead outings will find this size a natural step.
Best for
- Trolling live bait or lures for saltwater species
- Bottom fishing for catfish with heavy line
- Anglers targeting large freshwater species
Skip if
- You need a compact reel for light line
- You prefer spinning reels for easier casting
Strengths
- Reinforced aluminum side plates and CNC spool resist corrosion
- Carbon fiber drag system handles powerful fish
- Level wind and clicker alarm aid conventional techniques
Trade-offs
- Round reels have learning curve compared to spinning reels
- Heavier reel than modern baitcasting designs
- Not designed for finesse presentations
