Quick take
A baitcasting rod and reel combo with IM6 graphite construction and an extra tip section, designed for medium-heavy freshwater fishing.
This casting combo pairs a 7'1" medium-heavy graphite rod with a matching reel, giving a longer reach for bass, trout and catfish. The two-piece blank ships with an extra tip section of the same action, so a broken tip does not end the trip. Stainless guides with zirconium rings and a cork-and-rubber handle round out a setup aimed at anglers stepping into baitcasting.
Best for
- Bass fishing with moving baits and crankbaits
- Anglers practicing baitcasting for the first time
- Situations where an extra rod tip adds safety and flexibility
Skip if
- You want a spinning setup for lighter baits
- You need saltwater-rated components
Strengths
- Extra tip section provides backup and covers multiple actions
- Stainless steel guides with thin zirconium rings reduce friction
- 7+1 bearing system delivers smooth casting and retrieval
Trade-offs
- Baitcasting requires practice to avoid backlashes
- At 7'1" and medium-heavy power, not ideal for small finesse lures
- Max drag of 17.6 lbs limits the size of fish that can be safely fought
