Quick take
A high-speed low-profile baitcaster with a locking spool design for power fishing heavy cover without drag slip.
This 7.4:1 right-hand baitcaster skips the drag entirely and locks the spool down, so hook sets in heavy cover don't slip. An aluminum frame keeps it to 6.7 ounces, and 10+1 stainless bearings plus a centrifugal brake with an external Demon Eye dial help control casts. It suits power anglers pitching and flipping thick cover with braid or heavy line.
Best for
- Bass fishing thick weeds and timber
- Vertical jigging and drop-shot in cover
- Anglers who fish with locked-down power
Skip if
- You need drag adjustment for light line
- You target species requiring controlled drop-offs
Strengths
- Deadbolt design eliminates drag slip in heavy cover
- 10.5:1 gear ratio retrieves line fast for quick hookups
- Aluminum frame and carbon covers keep weight down
Trade-offs
- No drag means no give on solid hooksets
- Extreme 10.5:1 ratio can overwind and cause line bunching
