Quick take
Waterproof floating scale with backlit display for weighing fish in any weather or water condition.
This handheld suspension scale is a sealed, floating unit, so a drop over the side of the boat does not mean losing it. A large backlit LCD reads in pounds and ounces or in kilograms, which helps at dawn or after dark. It keeps a memory of several catches and can show their combined total, handy for tournament-style weigh-ins.
Best for
- Tournament fishing requiring accurate records
- Night fishing with its backlit display
- Boat and wade fishing where scales may fall overboard
Skip if
- You catch only small panfish under 5 pounds
- You have no need to record or track fish weights
Strengths
- Fully waterproof design survives accidental water drops
- Floats if dropped overboard, reducing loss risk
- Large 2.5 in backlit display reads clearly in low light
Trade-offs
- 110 lb capacity wastes resolution on panfish and small bass
- Storing up to 9 weights requires manual summation
- Thick grip requires a looser hand position for comfortable use
