Quick take
A compact plastic hook keeper clip that secures lures and line to your belt or tackle bag to keep hands free between casts.
This is a small red hook keeper from KATCH, molded from Delrin plastic, that gives a hook or lure a place to rest instead of hanging on a rod guide or reel handle. It measures about 1.5 x 0.75 x 1 inches and weighs roughly 0.3 ounces, so it slips into a tackle box, pocket or vest. It suits anglers who want to keep a rigged lure clear of the rod and reel between casts.
Best for
- Keeping a rigged rod ready between casts
- Securing lures and line in a tackle bag safely
- Storing terminal tackle in a vest pocket
Skip if
- You attach lures directly to your rod rod guides
- You keep multiple rods already rigged
Strengths
- Corrosion-proof Delrin plastic lasts through many seasons
- Compact size fits in any tackle bag or vest pocket
- Keeps hooks and line organized and tangle-free
Trade-offs
- Plastic construction may not hold very heavy lures long-term
- Requires a belt loop or pack attachment point
- Mini size limits what size hooks and lures it holds
