Quick take
A 15 x 20 inch floating galvanized steel fish basket with top and bottom gate access.
This galvanized steel wire basket keeps your catch alive in the water while you fish from shore or a dock. A float built into the top cover holds it at the surface, and spring-closed doors on the top and bottom keep fish in until you are ready to take them out. The bottom gate makes emptying it quick, and it folds down to about 2 inches thick for the trip home.
Best for
- Bank or wade fishing where you keep fish alive
- Day trips where you need a compact storage solution
- Keeping fish fresh during extended fishing sessions
Skip if
- You practice catch and release
- You want a soft-sided mesh basket
Strengths
- Float keeps basket at water surface for easy access
- Bottom gate allows quick fish removal without opening top
- Galvanized steel is durable and rust resistant
Trade-offs
- Spring gates require maintenance to prevent sticking
- Heavy when filled with water and fish
- Folded storage is awkward despite compact 2-inch height
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
