Quick take
Size 8/0 wide-gap offset catfish hooks forged from high carbon steel for holding large cut baits and battling big fish.
This is a box of 40 size 8/0 catfish hooks from Kunsilane, forged from high carbon steel with a needle-sharp point and a black finish. The wide gap and offset shape are meant for big cut baits and live baits, the kind of offering used for flathead, blue catfish and striped bass. The 2.5mm wire suits anglers who fish heavy bottom rigs in freshwater or saltwater and want a stout hook in a bulk pack.
Best for
- Live bait presentations for channel and flathead catfish
- Large cut bait rigs for trophy cats
- Bottom fishing in rivers and lakes where strong hooks are essential
Skip if
- You fish with small live baitfish; smaller hooks are better
- You prefer circle hooks that hook fish in the corner of the mouth
Strengths
- Wide gap accommodates thick baits like skipjack or bluegill cut pieces
- Forged high carbon steel withstands hard strikes from large catfish
- Needle-honed point penetrates quickly with sharp initial bite
Trade-offs
