Quick take
A replacement rubber mesh net designed to fit 19.7–21 inch hoop frames, with a snag-resistant flat-bottom design.
This is a rubber replacement bag for a landing net, sized for hoops about 19.7 to 21 inches across with a 24-inch depth. The soft rubber mesh is meant for catch-and-release and for lures with multiple hooks that tend to tangle in knotted netting. It weighs about 420 g, and its flat-bottom shape suits anglers fishing trout and other fly-fishing waters.
Best for
- Replacing worn nylon nets in existing landing net frames
- Catch-and-release fishing where gentle handling protects fish
- Fly fishing for trout where hook snags are common
Skip if
- You need a complete landing net with a handle; this is a mesh replacement
- You require a larger net; this fits hoops up to 21 inches
Strengths
- Rubber construction is gentle on fish scales and fins, reducing injury
- Hook-resistant rubber mesh minimizes time spent detangling multiple hooks
- Non-absorbent material stays dry and does not smell after saltwater use
Trade-offs
- Rubber is heavier than nylon, making the net slower to swing
- Rubber can become stiff in cold water if not warmed
- This is a mesh replacement only; you must supply your own hoop frame
