Quick take
A 9'6" medium-power rod with fast action, designed for steelhead and salmon by anglers and guides.
This Lamiglas X-11 is a 9.5-foot, two-piece casting rod in medium power, built for drift fishing for steelhead and salmon. It suits anglers who pair a low-profile baitcasting reel with thinner line to throw spinners, drift gear and floats from bank or boat. The graphite blank and fast action make it a fit for working rivers all day.
Best for
- Steelhead drift fishing with spinners and bait
- Salmon casting in rivers with light to medium lures
- Experienced anglers who fish guides in northwest rivers
Skip if
- You are new to salmon and steelhead; guides often recommend this model
- You need a shorter, lighter rod for comfort on long days
Strengths
- Fast action pairs well with medium power for distance
- 9'6" length controls drift and mend across fast water
- Chrome guides resist rust in frequent saltwater rinsing
Trade-offs
- At 9'6", the rod is heavy and tires anglers over long days
