Quick take

A 2-pack of 3-ounce bucktail jigs with 3D eyes and holographic strips for casting and vertical jigging in saltwater.

This two-pack of 6-ounce bucktail jigs comes in brown, with a spear-point hook and a J-style hook. The top-mounted eyelet suits casting and vertical jigging, and the 3D eyes with holographic strips in the hair add visibility in the water. The heavier weight is aimed at deeper water or stronger current, and the set is built for bass and fluke.

Best for

  • Saltwater flats and channel drop-offs for stripers
  • Casting to structure in bass ponds
  • Vertical jigging over rocky bottoms

Skip if

  • You fish primarily freshwater

Strengths

  • 3-ounce weight casts far and sinks quickly
  • Bucktail hair provides natural, flowing movement in current
  • Holographic strips and 3D eyes attract fish from distance

Trade-offs

  • Heavy jig poorly suited to finesse or shallow water
  • Bucktail can mat down after heavy use
  • White color visible to wary fish in clear water

About this type

A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.

Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.

Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
