Quick take
Small lead jigs with treble hooks sized for winter ice fishing on bluegill, walleye, crappie and panfish.
A 15-piece set of ice fishing jigs, each carrying a treble hook in size 10, 12 or 14. It comes in five colors with three jigs of each size, so you can swap sizes and colors through a day on the ice. The set is aimed at bass, walleye, trout, panfish and pike.
Best for
- Jigging for crappie and bluegill through the ice
- Panfish and walleye in winter
- Vertical jigging in shallow holes
Skip if
- You fish only open-water seasons
- You fish for large pike or musky only
Strengths
- Lead body sinks quickly to find fish below the ice
- Small treble hook hangs straight for vertical jigging
- Assorted sizes let you match different depths and fish species
Trade-offs
- Treble hooks are harder to set cleanly in winter when fish bite soft
- Lead jigs can rust if not dried after saltwater use
- Treble hooks snag on weeds more than single hooks

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
