Quick take

Small high-carbon hooks in six sizes from 7 to 12, suited for live bait and small fish.

Best for

  • Panfish and small sunfish with live worms
  • Float rigs under bobbers
  • Bottom fishing in ponds and lakes

Skip if

  • You need large hooks for catfish or pike
  • You prefer circle hooks for catch-and-release

Strengths

  • Six sizes provide coverage across small hook needs
  • High carbon steel offers strength for small profiles
  • Barbed shank keeps soft bait on the hook

Trade-offs

  • At these small sizes, removing the hook from deeply caught fish is difficult
  • Barbs make catch-and-release harder on the fish
  • High carbon steel can rust without care
