Quick take
Pre-rigged wire leaders with hooks for bait fishing and offshore work.
A 20-piece set of nylon-coated wire leader rigs, each pairing a stainless steel spear-point J hook with a swivel. The coating cuts down on visibility in the water, and the leaders come in 6.5, 8 and 10 inch lengths. It suits anglers rigging up for bottom, surf or boat fishing who want ready-made rigs on hand.
Best for
- Bottom rigs for catfish or saltwater bottom fish
- Surf casting with live bait or cut mackerel
- Pier and jetty fishing where abrasion is a concern
Skip if
- You plan to use light tackle on small fish
- You prefer monofilament leaders for invisibility
Strengths
- Wire leader resists fraying and bite-offs from sharp teeth
- Nylon coating reduces visibility while protecting wire from corrosion
- Pre-tied rigs save time setting up your rig at the water
Trade-offs
- Wire is heavier than mono and affects lure action in moving water
- Not suited to finesse fishing or delicate presentations
- Limited hook size options in each pack reduce customization

- Freshwater
- Saltwater
- Techniques
