Quick take

A compact telescopic landing net with a rubber-coated mesh that slides fish without snagging.

A telescoping landing net with an aluminum handle that folds down to clip on a belt or stash in a kayak hatch. It extends to about 40.5 inches and carries a 9.8-inch-deep net of rubber-coated nylon, a fish-friendly mesh that keeps treble hooks from snagging. It suits catch-and-release for bass, trout and catfish rather than big fish, and weighs around 12 ounces.

Best for

Kayak fishing where space is tight
Catch and release of trout and bass
Rocky or debris-filled banks where snagging matters

Skip if

You fish large freshwater pike or stripers that need a bigger net
You want a fixed-length handle for one-handed netting

Strengths

Rubber coated mesh does not hold water and does not harm fish scales
Telescopic handle fits compact storage when folded
Teflon coating resists saltwater corrosion

Trade-offs

At 9.8 inches deep, the net is small for large fish
Hexagonal mesh can snag treble hooks if you are not careful during netting
The aluminum handle may flex under heavy pressure from large fish

Fishing fit

Water: Freshwater
Saltwater
