Quick take
A 9-piece trout finesse kit with seven soft bodies and two 1/64 oz hooks, designed for jigging with rod-tip twitches.
This nine-piece Sassy pack pairs soft trout bodies with a size 8 J hook on each head. Its balance makes it drop horizontally instead of nose-first, a fall suited to drifting current. Short rod-tip twitches keep the lure moving in a lifelike way as it flows downstream.
Best for
- Ultra-light jigging for trout in streams and lakes
- Presentations where subtle motion and falls entice strikes
- Anglers using light line and sensitive rods
Skip if
- You need heavier jigs for faster presentations
- You fish species other than trout
Strengths
- Horizontal fall mimics natural forage better than vertical drop
- Light 1/64 oz hook size works on thin tippet
- Six color options allow matching hatch
Trade-offs
- Ultra-light hooks bend under heavy fish or structure snags
- Horizontal fall requires rod-tip manipulation for effectiveness
- Small bodies and hooks limit use to small trout

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
