Quick take
A freshwater spinning reel with sealed carbon fiber drag, 12 ball bearings, and a flush-and-drain port for easy maintenance.
This is the size 2000 Custom Pro Speed Spin, a light spinning reel with an aluminum frame, a sealed carbon multi-disc drag and a 6.2:1 gear ratio. A flush and drain port lets you rinse grit out of the body, and it suits freshwater anglers who work finesse presentations with light line. At roughly 0.68 pounds, it stays comfortable through a long day on the water.
Best for
- Freshwater bass, crappie and general spinning applications
- Anglers who clean reels frequently or fish near dusty areas
- Smooth drag performance when fighting mid-size fish
Skip if
- You fish saltwater; use a saltwater model
- You prioritize extreme sensitivity over drag smoothness
Strengths
- Carbon fiber drag is smooth as silk even when loaded
- Flush-and-drain port removes grit and salt spray easily
- All-aluminum frame resists flex and corrosion
Trade-offs
- Designed only for freshwater; aluminum frame rusts in saltwater
- Not rated for the heaviest freshwater fish like catfish or pike
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
