Quick take
A tournament-grade low-profile baitcast reel with a 7.5:1 gear ratio and 11-bearing system for smooth operation and reliable drag.
This is a low-profile baitcasting reel with a 7.5:1 gear ratio that takes in about 31 inches of line per turn, in a right-hand retrieve. An aluminum frame, a 34mm spool and an externally adjustable centrifugal brake with 27 settings suit casting lures for bass. It holds 120 yards of 12-pound mono and gives up to 20 pounds of carbon drag.
Best for
- Bass fishing with flipping, pitching and casting techniques
- Anglers seeking smooth drag performance with good line recovery
- Situations where medium casting distances are sufficient
Skip if
- You need a higher gear ratio for fast retrieves and reaction strikes
- You fish heavy structure where you need extreme power
Strengths
- 11-bearing system delivers exceptionally smooth drag
- 31-inch line retrieve per turn suits most freshwater techniques
- Zero Reverse one-way clutch bearing enables instant hook sets
Trade-offs
- 7.5:1 ratio is mid-range; faster reels recover line quicker
- 120-yard capacity limits extended distance casting
- Aluminum frame not as durable as full stainless steel construction
