Quick take
Hard-body topwater lures shaped like grasshoppers for trout and bass feeding on terrestrial insects.
This is a set of 12 small brown grasshopper imitations with spear-point hooks, shaped to look like a real terrestrial insect on the surface. It suits anglers who fish trout and bass around banks, overhanging grass and calm water. A multi-piece pack means spares are on hand when a few get lost to snags.
Best for
- Trout streams during late summer when grasshoppers drift into the water
- Bass feeding on the surface near shoreline vegetation
- Clear-water presentations where a lifelike profile matters
Skip if
- You need subsurface action; these are designed for the surface only
- You fish murky water; the detailed finish is wasted
Strengths
- Detailed body mimics a real grasshopper's shape and coloring
- Hard construction resists damage from toothy fish and rough handling
- Floating design keeps the lure in the surface strike zone
Trade-offs
- Does not cast as far as heavier lures due to moderate weight
- Surface action requires active retrieves; passive drifting is less effective
- Delicate hook points bend if cast into rocks or retrieved over rough bottom

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
