Quick take
A pre-rigged walleye rig with a floating lure, 36 in of fluorocarbon, and #4 octopus hook.
The Lindy Lil' Guy in the 1 Inch Aunt Creepy color is a small pre-tied walleye rig that adds crankbait-style action to the bait it is clipped to. Its buoyant body keeps the rig off the bottom and floats even when it sits motionless, so the bait stays in the strike zone longer. Each rig comes on a 36-inch, 14-pound fluorocarbon leader, and a snell storage unit keeps spare rigs from tangling. Walleye anglers who want a quick way to add flash and movement to a bait can keep one in the tackle box.
Best for
- Live minnow fishing for walleye in lakes
- Dragging rigs along flats where walleye hunt
- Keeping bait suspended above weed beds
Skip if
- You need a bottom-hugging rig for deep structure
- You want to tie your own rigs for custom options
Strengths
- Floating design and crankbait action attracts inactive walleye by creating movement
- Silver Thread fluorocarbon is less visible than monofilament in clear water
- Pre-rigged and stored in snell organizer prevents tangles
Trade-offs
- Floating design means bait rides high; not ideal for walleye tight to bottom
- Pre-rigged means you can't adjust hook size or line weight
- Snell organizer takes up storage space; not minimal-pack friendly
