Best for
- Night ice fishing for walleye, perch, or crappie
- Panfish fishing after dark
- Fishing in dim light conditions
Skip if
- You fish mostly daytime; these add no value when light is available
- Your rod tips already have bright paint; glow sticks add redundancy
Strengths
- Multiple sizes let you fit different rod tip diameters
- Glow provides visibility without adding significant weight or bulk to the rod
- Large pack supplies multiple rigs or seasons of use
Trade-offs
- Glow sticks have finite brightness duration and require replacement
- Clip-on design means the stick can slip off if not seated firmly
- The bulky 20-pack takes significant storage space for just rods
